More Collab

These is how far I will be going with my characters for the collaboration project.

I did put colour on them but then I turned the opacity down and filled the background grey.
What I need to do next is meet with the others today to line them all up to see if the suit each other, think it will go well.

Collaboration Characters

As part of my Final Major project I have to collaborate on a extra project. So me and three other people, came up with a game concept idea based around the medieval times.

A young brother and sister have to go on a quest to save their parents who have been kidnapped by the evil villainess. The kids discover notes left by there mother all along the journey, to shortly discover that she is dead but the father is still alive.

My job is to create the designs for the mother, father and also the lovable pet dog.

Personal Project Prints

As part of my final major of creating '13 Wasters way' I also had to make a personal project that best reflects me.

I had many idea running through my head but one stood out the most and that was fashion. I have a very keen interest in fashion as a hobby anyway so to incorporate that into animation was pretty straight foreword.

The idea is around fashion illustration by creating tall poses of modals with the chosen outfit on the modal.
So by doing that I thought of presenting women from the cartoon network channel, such as 'Flintstones'
I picked this because they are simple drawn, and its a favorite style of mine.

Express yourself

I have finished all the expressions sheets for my characters.
It took me a while to decide what style they should be presented as, but I went with this because face on you can show more variety.

Then by adding the block colour background shows off the face and bring the whole page together.
It was a lot of fun creating these.

Lets get too it!!

I'm still working on the production of '13 Wasters way', I am happy with the way its going but it is time to set it up a gear.

Easter is commencing I have no choice but not go out for the next two weeks!! I wanna get the best possible results with this project.

Here are my final looking characters of the students.

 I am really pleased with he outcome of these final characters. They look how they should be and thats what makes me happy with the way they are.

Now that I have the final characters in place, I wanted to put them in situations or with other characters. still working in photoshop, I was able to find pencil like brushes to create the eric character who is contemplating his sexuality, I chose this character as he is not the typical looking 'come out of the closet' looking character. As the series would go on the other house mates would find out.

The bottom picture shows the love story of my production series, where fashion student vincent has become obsessed with girly girl Aimee. But she has no clue about Vincent's love for her.
Thats how far those characters have come the story is in process.

In the next day or so there will be more work too see so keep looking!! :D

Business Card and My Ultimate Image

Since my last deadline, I have kept a steady pace with my project. But lately I have become even more creative with my ideas, also still keeping them fresh.

Organisation is the key!!!

For my recent project, as part of business module I had to create a business card, to get me ready for industry. I had a lot of fun with it, I wish I had more time to spend on it.

Then for my recent deadline for this module, I have to produce a Ultimate Image which shows my personality and my drawing skills.

The image was entirely coloured in Photoshop, a software that I am still grasping and challenging but also thoroughly enjoying every minute. 

'Stages'

I have played about with textures, especially watercolour. The background was made by using crimson, green and blues.

I wanted the image to have depth and by using the same image growing in one line shows that I have taken stages in the process of producing this image, but not only that it brings out a metaphor for my journey throughout my University course. Growing potentially better. :)

My Pre-Production Work, '13 Wasters way'

It had been a while since my last post. Since October I have been designing for my Major Project at University, I think I have mentioned it to you all where my idea consisted of a group of students living away from home for the first time.

I have since then started my research and designing preliminary characters and background/props.
And here is just some of my work that I have been able to produce.

 This character is called Aimee, she is a science geek but still retains popularity, I had fun designing her expression sheets. I thought that by just inking her black would bring out the features more.

This is Eric, very early stages of developing. I have made him into a larger character, as I felt it would suit his personality more.

 These are all of my characters so far, I'm happy with the way they look and how different they all are,
As they all don't know each other. Its some truth to the saying opposites do attract.

 This is my last character 'Anjo' he is hat obsessed, outgoing person. Someone who you can get along with in an instant.

 Some development but also look at different styles for my characters.

And this is Eric's room he is studying to be a sports journalist and trying to loose wait also, but I picture his room in a huge mess with also typical boy gadgets and layouts. 

Pre-Porduction Major Project....Goth or not...a..Goth??

Been quite a while since my last post, trying to get my head around my final major project pre-production.

My idea is based around student life, being independent and meeting new people.
I will pitch the idea as a t.v series aimed for students, The pilot episode will be all the students, 5 to be exact getting settled in their house.
I want the theme to be spooky and dark, because it will represents how nervous the students will be living on there own for the first time!

Anyway I want to show just a small development of one of my characters...Vincent, who is a self confessed Goth who is going to study fashion :O

My floating head....

I did a pencil sketch over the summer of a cartoon head of me, I only did this out of boredom but I really liked the outcome :)

I also used the head for a image to use in flash just to try out the software. I re-drew it in flash though so I had to draw it again in photoshop....and here is the outcome, enjoy!! :D

More Flash work :)

Here is the link to my interactive buttons piece, that I created on flash. I'm really happy with the design and style but I have to say a tad disappointed with the finished piece. Then again I never used flash before and I thought that I managed to grasp the software quite well.

I also forgot to upload another character design page where I experimented with different textures and styles.......you will also find that I have taken screen shots of my working development in flash just to give a taste of what I had to do.

Finished, Flash, Finally......

Here are the characters and backgrounds for my recently finished flash project.
I came up with the idea based around the theme of Halloween, (as its coming up to that time of year) and I thought what best to associate Halloween with than trick or treating.
I also have a recurring style where I come up with ideas that to do with kids, so I combined both and came up with a interactive piece where the audience has to decide whether to pick trick or treat.

I never used flash before but I found many tutorials online and came across how to make 'buttons'
to say the least was a little challenging at some times but I managed to come through in the end. :)

I have uploaded the finished interactive piece on swf cabin. I didn't managed to finish the project the way I would have loved to, but I will upload the link for those who would like to check it out.

First Post EVER!!

Being since this is my first post on blogger, I would just like to start off by saying Hi! :D


I'm currently in my 3rd year of University studying Animation, I want to put on this blog my work that a produce throughout the year. I just finished a flash project, where I was able to explore the software and create a interactive piece. (uploading very soon)


I'm very excited about this year and I can't wait to show you all what I will be able to achieve :)
